Banda fetish figure (N° 19985)
Very graphic statuette with a face where the ears and eyebrows seem to merge. The arms folded in a "V", unhooked from the shoulders and enveloping the bust, are characteristic of the Ubangi region. Its functions are similar to those of the Ngbaka of the Mani-Yanda society, as part of therapeutic rites or in preparation for hunts. Grey patina, residual inlays, beautiful patina of use. Desiccation crack on the face.
