Statue Tiv Ihambe (N° 5670)

In African art, there are few Tiv statues.
Celles are made of hardwood and have a slightly crusty patina.
There are body scarifications such as crow's feet around the mouth. This is the Ihambe to post variant.
Insif the female statue rests on a circular base that was buried in the ground.
These statues are not made in homage to ancestors but to guardians who protect the family, and are invoked at weddings.
