Old Toubou dagger and its thick leather sheath with a braided skin handle. The sharpened and patinated blade shows signs of use. The handle is made of wood, with copper tip.
The "Lords of the desert", in the Sahara, named Toubou, Tubu, Tedda, or Gouranes, form a nomadic people, warriors and traders. Some of them practice the breeding of dromedaries. They live in northern Chad, in Libya in the Fezzan region, and in northeastern Niger.
