African art - Bassa:

The Bassa people originated in Liberia, in the Great Bassa of the coastal region. The style of their works and their traditions were influenced by the Dan and Kpellé, also Mande-speaking. Amongst these productions, the chu-den-zo mask, the geh-naw, gela. They were worn by dancers during ceremonies. Today, these masks are used when an important guest visits.
