Tabwa Mask (N° 24161)

Ex-Belgian African art collection.
This African mask Tabwa was worn, embellished with an imposing outfit made of rafia, in the 50s and 60s during ritual dances.
The eyes are made of cowries and separated by a vertical line made using upholstery nails. Two ears surmounted by two horns that the use of them by the dancer has endowed with an interesting patina.
